AWC is a roleplay-based e-fed.

Roster

* Only original characters shall be permitted. Your AWC character must be your own intellectual property, or used with the consent of the person whose intellectual property it is. Imitations or passing-off will result in termination.

* We reserve the right to reject your application. This will normally only occur in cases that handlers have plagiarised work or provoked out-of-character problems in the past. If you believe your application may be in doubt for any reason, please contact the fed-head in advance of applying.

* Your responsibilities shall include: roleplaying when booked for matches, writing segments to develop your character on shows, and writing matches when necessary. Ultimately, roleplaying is your primary responsibility as a member of AWC. Not to roleplay for a match is referred to as a "no-show"; repeated no-shows without notice or reason will result in termination.

Events

* There will be one weekly show, Fresh!, which will take place every Friday. There will be special "pay-per-view" shows, which will take place every six to eight weeks, also on Fridays. In the weeks immediately prior to pay-per-view shows, there will be no Fresh! show.

* Pre-booking arrangements will be in place for every event. Pre-booking is also known as handler-led booking, and involves the handler signing up in advance to indicate his/her availability to roleplay and/or match-write and/or judge for each show, followed by the management of a segment sign-up sheet for booking airtime on the shows outside of matches.

* Shows will be written out using the present-tense, play-by-play style with announcers. Most matches will be summarised, but main events, championship matches and some other matches will be written in full. AWC is a storytelling promotion, and Fresh! is skewed towards development of feuds through backstage and in-ring encounters that take place outside of matches. AWC reserves its longer, showpiece matches for Fresh! main event and for pay-per-view shows. Match-writing duties will be shared among the roster.

Roleplays

* Each handler will be expected to produce one roleplay for each match in which his/her character is booked. There is no word limit applied. Profanities need not be censored, but if a roleplay contains especially graphic or contentious material, this should be signposted at the top of the roleplay.

* Additional character development roleplays may be posted in any number, at any time.

* Matches will very rarely be angled. Matches will never be angled for the reason that a handler is unable to roleplay. Rather, match results will only be predetermined in highly specific cases that are critical to feud outcomes. Be aware that the fed-head is highly unlikely to approve your match being angled, whatever the reason.

* The roleplay deadline for Fresh! shows will be 11:59pm British time (GMT/BST) on the Wednesday before the show, to allow sufficient time for judging by Friday. The roleplay deadline for pay-per-view shows will be 11:59pm British time (GMT/BST) on the Monday before the show. Late roleplays will not count.

* Match results will be decided by judges reading and comparing the roleplays. The judges will include handlers and the fed-head. There will normally be three judges per match. Judges will be expected to produce a short (one paragraph is sufficient) reasoning for their decisions. Lengthier judging comments are not required, but are always encouraged.

* There are no specific judging criteria. Each judge can use his/her discretion as to what are the important elements in a roleplay. There is no requirement that the roleplays should be relevant to the world of wrestling, though some judges may prefer such stories.

* The re-use, recycling or re-posting of one's old roleplays is not permitted. It is, however, permissible to include short excerpts from a previous roleplay, but these must always be clearly signposted and cited.

* Any material not written by the handler that is used in a roleplay must be clearly signposted and cited. Any instance of plagiarism is punishable by termination.

* Other handlers' characters may not be physically involved in your roleplay without their permission. Exceptions include "dream" sequences. AWC's NPCs (non-playable characters, such as the backstage crew and the announcers) may be used without permission, with the exception of David "Pearl" Harber (permission to use Pearl must be sought from the fed-head).

Feuds, Championships and Pushes

* The booking and card positioning of your character are at the discretion of the fed-head.

* You are encouraged to organise your own feuds with other handlers. However, it is advisable to keep the fed-head informed on such matters, so that he may book accordingly. Additionally, feuds related to championship belts must be approved in advance by the fed-head.

* As a champion, you may not hand-pick your contenders. However, it is reasonable to make suggestions to the fed-head as to who might respond well to championship opportunities.

* As a general rule, your push is dependent on three factors, which receive equal weighting: first, the quality of your roleplays; second, the quality and consistency of your character's on-show contributions, such as segments and feud development; and third, your consistency as a handler, which includes match-writing and other backstage contributions. Additionally, no-shows have a highly detrimental effect on your push.

Responsibilities

* The fed-head is responsible for: the maintenance of the website, booking the shows, overseeing judging, organising match-writing and segment sign-ups, and compiling and posting the shows.

* You are responsible for: signing up for matches, roleplaying (once per match booking), writing matches (on average, please aim for once per month), writing segments (usually at least once per show), and judging matches (please aim for once per show).

Out-of-Character Community

* AWC encourages a fun, friendly atmosphere. You are expected to maintain it as such. Acting unpleasantly or poisonously on the community forums can result in punishments at the discretion of the fed-head.

* Interactions outside of the community forums generally take place over AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). It is not a requirement to have an AIM screen name, but it is encouraged, as the program facilitates the development of feuds and the writing of segments. Additionally, fedwide chat sessions will take place using AIM.

Your Circumstances

* We understand that AWC is a hobby, and must always take a backseat to real life. If, for any reason, you wish to take time away from AWC, please contact the fed-head in advance. It is infinitely preferable to discuss leaving with the fed-head, even if you do not wish to discuss your reasons, than to disappear without notice. If you take time away from AWC having informed the fed-head beforehand, you will be permitted to return at your convenience, without having to go through the application procedure.
